How to Make Google Play Screenshots and the 1024×500 Feature Graphic
AppShots has Android phone (1080×1920) and tablet (1600×2560) canvases with Android frames, and a frameless 1024×500 Google Play feature graphic canvas. Design them in the same app as your App Store set and export PNG or JPEG.
The problem
You ship on both stores, but Google Play wants a different set: different sizes, a different style of device frame, and a wide feature graphic that App Store tools don’t make. Doing Play in a separate design tool means redoing the fonts, colours and translations you already did for iOS, and keeping the two in sync forever.
What AppShots covers
- Android phone canvas, 1080×1920.
- Android tablet (10-inch) canvas, 1600×2560.
- Android device frames for both.
- Google Play feature graphic, a frameless 1024×500 landscape canvas.
- A custom canvas if Play asks for another size.
Everything else works the same: the layer editor, templates, panorama pages, per-language captions and fonts, AI translation and CSV.
Steps
- Duplicate your iOS project to Android phone or tablet. See designing for another device. Bring over captions, backgrounds, fonts and languages.
- Replace the screenshots with Android captures.
- Create a project on the feature graphic canvas for the banner. Keep the text large: it’s shown small.
- Export PNG or JPEG for each language.
- Add them in the Google Play Console.
Tips
- Keep brand colours and type the same across stores.
- Feature graphic text must survive being tiny. One line, strong contrast.
- Check Google’s current requirements before you finalise. Rules for sizes and counts change.
