This Privacy Policy explains how Ringtone Genius (“the App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you use the App.

Summary

Ringtone Genius is designed to create and manage ringtones on your device. The App imports audio files, extracts audio from videos you choose, records audio when you grant microphone access, edits audio projects, and exports ringtone-ready files.

Most creative content is stored locally on your device. If iCloud is available and enabled for the App, project workspace files may be stored in your private iCloud container so they can be available across your Apple devices.

The App is free to use and is supported by advertising. The ads are not personalized: the App does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission, does not collect the advertising identifier, and does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites. A Pro purchase removes the ads.

Information You Provide or Create

The App may process the following information:

  • Audio files you import from Files.
  • Videos you select from Photos for audio extraction.
  • Microphone recordings you create in the App.
  • Project data, timeline edits, clip names, categories, generated waveform data, and export records.
  • Ringtone files, preview audio files, and GarageBand-compatible export packages created by the App.
  • App settings such as editor preferences, theme selection, snap interval, haptics setting, and custom ringtone categories.

This information is used to provide the App’s editing, playback, organization, and export features.

Permissions

The App may request access to:

  • Microphone: used only when you choose to record audio.
  • Photos: used only when you choose a video from your photo library to extract audio.
  • Files / document access: used when you choose audio files to import or share exported files.
  • iCloud Documents: used to store project workspace files in the App’s private iCloud container when available.

You can manage permissions in iOS Settings.

Purchases and Subscriptions

Ringtone Genius may offer paid Pro features through Apple in-app purchases, including monthly, yearly, and lifetime options.

Purchases are processed by Apple. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. The App uses Apple’s StoreKit APIs to check purchase entitlement status, restore purchases, and unlock paid features. An active Pro entitlement also removes all advertising described below.

Advertising

The free tier of Ringtone Genius is supported by ads served through Google AdMob. You may see a full-screen ad after an export, an ad when you open or return to the App, and — only if you choose it — a rewarded ad that pays for an export instead of paying with money. Ads are never shown to Pro subscribers.

The ads are not personalized. The App does not present Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt, does not read the advertising identifier (IDFA), and marks every ad request as non-personalized. Google is therefore not permitted to use your activity in other companies’ apps and websites to select the ads you see here, and the App builds no advertising profile of you.

To deliver an ad at all, Google’s advertising SDK still receives technical data such as your IP address (from which it derives an approximate, coarse location), device model, operating system version, language, and how you interacted with the ad. Google uses this to fill the ad slot, to limit how often you see the same ad, to prevent fraud and invalid traffic, and to report aggregate performance. The App also supports Apple’s SKAdNetwork, a system in which Apple — not the App and not the advertiser — reports whether an ad led to an install. SKAdNetwork is designed by Apple to measure advertising without identifying you, and it requires no permission.

In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, the App presents Google’s consent form before requesting any ad, and your choice there governs what Google may use. You can reopen that choice from the ads themselves where Google provides the control.

Analytics and Diagnostics

The App contains no third-party analytics SDK and no crash-reporting SDK. Nothing in the App reports your activity, your projects, or your exports to us or to anyone else for measurement.

The App contacts one service we operate, rate.mzjpg.com, and only for the in-app rating prompt and the feedback form:

  • Rating prompt. The App asks the service whether the prompt is currently enabled, and reports anonymous outcome counts — prompt shown, accepted, or dismissed — together with the app version, the prompt variant, and your language. These counts are not tied to you, to a device identifier, or to anything you have made in the App.
  • Feedback. Nothing is sent unless you choose to send it. When you submit the feedback form, the App sends your message, the email address you optionally enter, any screenshots you attach, and a short diagnostic summary: app version and build, bundle identifier, iOS version, device model, language and region, time zone, days since install, and launch count. The form shows you that summary before you send.

Your audio, videos, recordings, and projects are never included in either of these.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Provide audio import, recording, editing, playback, waveform, export, and ringtone organization features.
  • Store and restore your projects and exported works.
  • Sync workspace files through iCloud when available.
  • Verify Pro entitlement status and restore purchases.
  • Serve non-personalized ads in the free tier, and withhold them from Pro subscribers.
  • Decide when the in-app rating prompt is appropriate.
  • Read and respond to feedback and support requests you choose to send us.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information.

Information may be processed by the following third-party services when their features are used:

  • Apple: App Store purchases, StoreKit entitlement checks, iCloud storage, Photos picker, Files, system sharing, and SKAdNetwork ad measurement.
  • Google AdMob: the technical data needed to fill an ad slot, as described under Advertising above. No personalized advertising, and no advertising identifier.
  • Our rating and feedback service at rate.mzjpg.com, hosted on Cloudflare: rating-prompt statistics, and the feedback you choose to send us.

Your exported audio files are shared only when you choose to use iOS sharing, save, open, or export actions.

Data Storage and Retention

Project files, imported audio, recordings, generated audio, waveform data, material files, and export records are stored on your device and, when available, in the App’s private iCloud workspace.

You can delete projects, materials, and exported works inside the App where deletion controls are provided. You can also remove the App from your device to delete local App data. Data stored in iCloud may remain available through iCloud according to your iCloud settings.

Feedback you send us, and the anonymous rating-prompt statistics described above, are kept on our rating and feedback service for as long as we need them to answer you and to keep the prompt’s rules working. Write to us at the address below to have feedback you sent deleted.

Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.

Your Choices

You can:

  • Deny microphone or photo access, though related features will not work without permission.
  • Delete local App data by deleting App content or uninstalling the App.
  • Manage iCloud storage in iOS Settings.
  • Manage subscriptions in App Store account settings. Buying Pro removes all ads.
  • Change your advertising consent choice, if you are in a region where the App asks for one.
  • Decline the rating prompt, which stops it from returning.
  • Skip the feedback form, in which case nothing is sent to us.

International Users

Your information may be processed in the country where you use the App and in other locations where Apple, Google, Cloudflare, or our other service providers operate.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will be posted at the privacy policy URL above with an updated date.
