Where Your Edits Are Saved: Library, Export Format and Free Space

TL;DR

Saved edits show up in the Library grid. Tap to reopen, long-press to delete, or Select to delete several. Export format is Auto, PNG or JPEG. PNG preserves transparency but is larger; JPEG is smaller.

The problem

You’ve edited fifty photos and can’t remember which are saved where. Files are bigger than you expect, a cutout comes out with a white box, or the app is taking gigabytes.

The Library

The Library tab shows every saved edit in a grid. You can:

  • Tap to reopen it in the editor.
  • Long-press to delete.
  • Use Select to choose several and delete them together.

Copies you saved to Photos are separate from the library copies.

Export format

Set in Settings:

FormatGood forNotes
AutoMost peoplePNG when the image has transparency, JPEG otherwise
PNGCutouts, lossless mastersKeeps transparency, larger files
JPEGSharing, saving spaceSmaller, no transparency

Managing space

  1. Save finished photos to Photos.
  2. Delete the library copies you don’t need to re-edit.
  3. Prefer JPEG for ordinary photos; keep PNG for transparent cutouts.
  4. Upscaled images are large, so clear them out when done.

Remember

The app itself is large because the AI models are inside it. Deleting the app deletes its library.

FAQ

Where are my edits? In the Library tab, and in Photos if you saved them there.

How do I delete several? Use Select in the Library to choose multiple and delete them.

Which export format should I use? Auto picks PNG for images with transparency and JPEG otherwise. Use PNG for lossless or transparent, JPEG for smaller files.
