How to Fix Wrong, Duplicate or Unwanted People in Life Reel
Rename anyone, merge two entries that are the same person, hide people you didn't mean to keep, and set how many photos someone needs to be featured. You can also erase the derived face data in one tap.
Matching faces across thirty years is hard. A baby and the adult they became don’t look alike. Life Reel makes its best guess, and gives you tools to correct it.
What you can change
- Rename. Name the person so you can find them.
- Merge. Two entries that are the same person become one, giving a longer reel.
- Hide. Remove people you didn’t mean to keep: strangers in the background, a crowd.
- Minimum photos. Set how many photos someone needs before they’re worth featuring.
Fixing a reel that looks wrong
If a reel jumps between two different faces, the grouping merged two people. If a reel is short and you know there should be more, the same person is probably split across entries, so merge them.
Erasing face data
The face measurements Life Reel derives live in its own on-device store. You can erase them in one tap from the You tab.
The photos in your library are not touched.
FAQ
Why is the same person listed twice? Face grouping is a guess. Merge the two entries.
How do I delete the face data? You can erase it in one tap from the You tab. The photos themselves are untouched.
