How to Edit a Transcript and Jump to Any Sentence by Timestamp
Open a note and choose Edit transcript to correct text in place. Tap any timestamp to play from that sentence. Toggle timestamps on or off and copy the full transcript with one tap.
The problem
No transcription is perfect. A wrong number or a misspelt name is the sort of thing you must fix before sharing. And finding the exact moment something was said in a 60-minute recording by scrubbing is slow.
Steps
- Open a note. The transcript sits alongside the audio player.
- Choose Edit transcript from the menu. Fix words in place; tap Done to save or Cancel to throw changes away.
- Tap a timestamp to play from that sentence.
- Toggle timestamps on or off for a cleaner read.
- Use Copy transcript to put it all on the clipboard.
Good habits
- Listen to the sentence while you fix it; the timestamp makes this quick.
- Edit after the final transcription run; re-running replaces the text.
- Rename the note and set a category to find it later.
FAQ
Can I edit the text? Yes. Choose Edit transcript, change what you need and tap Done (or Cancel to discard).
What do timestamps do? Tapping one sends the audio player to that sentence, so you can verify what was said.
Can I hide timestamps? Yes, in the note’s view options.
Does re-running the transcript erase my edits? Re-running replaces the transcript, so finish your edits after you have the final run.
