Built-In Sound Effects for Notification Tones and Alarms (Pro)
The Pro sound library has ten categories (alarm, ambient, funny, game, nature, notification, office, percussion, sci-fi, transition) with about a dozen sounds each, generated in the app. Preview, add to a track, trim and export as a tone.
The problem
You want a short, distinctive ping for a particular contact, an alarm that isn’t the default, or a game-like jingle, and you don’t have a sound file or a library licence.
What’s in the library
Ten categories with around twelve sounds each:
- Notification (message blink, calm bell, sync done…)
- Alarm
- Transition
- Game (level spark and similar)
- Sci-fi
- Office
- Ambient and Nature
- Percussion
- Funny
They’re synthesised inside the app, so they’re short, clean and ready to trim.
Steps (Pro)
- Open a project and tap Add track → Sound effects.
- Browse the grid and tap to preview.
- Add the one you like. It becomes a clip you can trim, move, fade, speed up and EQ.
- Layer with voice or music if you wish, then export.
Tips
- Short effects (under 2 seconds) are better as accents than as the whole ringtone.
- Repeat an effect by splitting and duplicating it on a lane.
- Combine a calm bell with a fade-out for a gentle alarm.
FAQ
Are the sounds recordings? They are generated by the app from templates, so they are small and royalty-free to use in your ringtones.
Are they free? The library is a Pro feature.
Can I use them for message tones? You can export them as audio files. iOS only supports setting a custom ringtone through the routes in the app; alert tones may need other tools.
Can I combine them with my music? Yes, on another track (Pro).
