How to Play Apple Music in RadioX: Previews vs Full Songs
Browse charts and genres in the Apple Music area. Without a subscription you can play 30-second previews; with an Apple Music subscription on the device, songs play in full using your own subscription. Ads never appear on Apple Music surfaces.
The problem
You listen to radio, podcasts and a bit of Apple Music, and you don’t want three separate apps with three players, three queues and three Lock Screen widgets.
Steps
- Open the Apple Music area (Browse) and allow RadioX to use Apple Music when asked.
- Browse the top charts and genres.
- Tap a song. If you have an Apple Music subscription, it plays in full; otherwise you hear the 30-second preview.
- Add songs to a playlist, mixed with podcast episodes if you like.
What to expect
- Subscribers: full-length playback, through your own subscription. RadioX never charges you for Apple Music.
- Everyone else: previews, so you can try before subscribing.
- Apple Music history is kept on the device.
- It doesn’t replace the Music app’s library management. It’s for browsing charts and playing.
Ads and Apple Music
Apple’s rules don’t allow apps to earn from ads around Apple Music, so RadioX shows none there.
Troubleshooting
- Songs only preview: you may not have an active Apple Music subscription on this Apple ID, or permission was declined (Settings → RadioX).
- Playback stops after a call: enable Resume after interruption in Settings.
FAQ
Do I need a separate login? No. RadioX uses your device’s existing Apple Music access; it asks permission to use it.
What can I play without a subscription? The 30-second preview clips.
Does RadioX download songs? No. Songs play through Apple Music under your subscription.
Are there ads in the Apple Music area? No. Ads are deliberately never shown on Apple Music surfaces, and the app-open ad is held back while Apple Music is playing.
