How to Save, Share or Print a Cropped PDF (Files, iCloud Drive, AirDrop)
Exports land in the Files tab inside PDFCrop. From there you can preview, rename, share (AirDrop, Files, iCloud Drive, other apps), print or delete. Settings let you choose the file name style and whether unedited pages are kept or left out.
The problem
You exported the PDF and now it seems to have vanished. Or it’s saved but you need it in iCloud Drive, on a colleague’s phone, or at the printer. Or you want it called something other than a random string.
After export
When the export finishes you’ll see Export Complete with Open in Files and Share. The file also appears under the Files tab in PDFCrop.
From the Files tab
Tap a file to preview its pages, then:
- Share: AirDrop, Messages, Mail, Save to Files / iCloud Drive, or another app.
- Print: the iOS print dialog.
- Rename or Delete (swipe, or use the file’s menu). Deleting removes the exported copy from PDFCrop’s Files.
Choose file names
Settings → Export → File names:
- Source + Cropped: report-Cropped.pdf
- Timestamp: PDFCrop-Export-20260214-101530.pdf
- UUID: a unique identifier
If a name exists, a number is added: report-Cropped (2).pdf.
Unedited pages
Settings → Export → Unedited Pages: choose Keep Original Page to export every page, or Exclude From Export to export only the ones you cropped or split. The second is handy for extracting a few pages.
Password-protect
On the export screen turn on Encrypt output PDF, enter and confirm a password, and the exported PDF opens only with it. Don’t forget it; PDFCrop can’t recover it.
Free exports
The free tier adds a small PDFCrop badge on exported pages. Pro or a Single Clean Export removes it. See the free vs Pro guide.
