How to Switch Between °C and °F in GeoCam

TL;DR

Switch metric or imperial once in settings. It affects the weather stamp on new photos and the dashboard, but never photos you already took.

The problem

A stamp that says 68° is useless if you can’t tell, at a glance, whether it was warm or freezing. It gets worse when you travel, or when you shoot for someone who reads the other scale: the client’s report says 20 °C and your photos say 68 °F, and now somebody’s converting numbers in their head. Mistakes in a report about weather conditions aren’t harmless.

The fix

GeoCam has one global unit setting, so the weather stamp and the dashboard always agree.

  1. Open settings.
  2. Choose metric (°C) or imperial (°F).
  3. New photos use it from the next shot.

When to change it

  • Before a trip abroad, so your photos use the scale people around you use.
  • Before starting a job for a new client who reports in a different scale.
  • Before a shared project where several people shoot, so everyone’s photos match.

Worth knowing

  • Already-taken photos are fixed. The temperature is burned in at the moment you shoot. If a batch has the wrong unit, they stay that way; reshoot or note it in the report.
  • Check the preview. The live overlay shows the new unit immediately.
  • It’s persistent. You only need to do it once.

FAQ

Where does the unit change apply? Everywhere temperature appears: the weather stamp on new photos and the dashboard conditions.

Does it change photos I’ve already taken? No. The stamp is burned in at capture, so only new photos change.

Does the setting stay? Yes, until you change it.
